Integrations

Choose the systems that fit the project.

GEM brings supported equipment and open protocols into one operating model without forcing the property into a single manufacturer’s catalog.

Three integration paths

Start with the shortest reliable path.

A product driver is often the answer, but GEM also exposes native protocol and developer surfaces for unusual equipment and project-specific workflows.

Built-in drivers

Configure documented equipment in GEM and bring its commands, feedback, and zones into the shared property model.

Open protocols

Work directly with standards including BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, KNX, MQTT, DMX, and OpenADR demand response.

Focused extensions

Use generic transports, APIs, web services, macro scripts, or a custom driver when the project falls outside the catalog.

Serial field equipment can connect through the Omnibus gateway. New or proprietary interfaces can use the GEM developer platform.

Featured open standards

Native protocol support where depth matters.

GEM includes dedicated tools for configuring, mapping, testing, and monitoring supported protocol connections.

OPC UA

Connect to OPC UA servers, discover endpoints, browse address spaces, read and write supported nodes, subscribe to live values, map nodes into GEM zones, and monitor session health.

OpenADR demand response

Connect directly as an OpenADR 2.0a or 2.0b Virtual End Node—or through a compatible gateway—then map utility event levels to shed and restore automation.

Premium driver families

Add the specialized buses the property uses.

Premium drivers are licensed by family for the site rather than by connected device. Feature depth still depends on the selected equipment and integration.

BACnet

Commercial HVAC and building controls over BACnet/IP, with a dedicated explorer for discovery, mapping, live inspection, and diagnostics.

Modbus

Meters, VFDs, boilers, power systems, and industrial equipment over Modbus/TCP or Modbus RTU.

KNX

Lighting, shading, and room control through an existing KNXnet/IP installation.

Lutron

Supported Lutron lighting and shading processors, scenes, occupancy events, and connected controls.

Dante Audio Network

Professional networked-audio routing and zone control alongside the rest of the property.

OpenADR 2.0 VEN

Supported utility demand-response programs connected to defined building load strategies.

LoRaWAN Gateway

Long-range, low-power sensing for environmental, occupancy, leak, and other property measurements.

Symetrix Composer

Supported DSP, matrix, source, zone, routing, and audio-processing controls.

The catalog reflects documented integration families, not a guarantee that every model, firmware release, command, event, or cloud account type behaves identically. Confirm the exact equipment and required capabilities during engineering.

Don’t see yours?

A documented interface creates options.

GEM can extend beyond its built-in library through open protocols, generic TCP, HTTP, serial and infrared transports, custom web services, and user-authored drivers.

Bring the useful details

Manufacturer, model, firmware, protocol documentation, required commands, and the feedback the property needs.

We’ll tell you whether the best path is an existing driver, a protocol mapping, a focused extension, or new integration work.
