Pricing
A simple fee structure with no surprises.
GEM pricing starts with a perpetual platform license. Add the premium drivers, feature modules, and care or cloud services the project needs; standard configurations can be priced directly in the store.
How a license is built
Four decisions, in order.
01
The platform One perpetual license
The automation engine, generated interfaces, access profiles, mobile app, and core driver set are included in the platform license.
02
Premium drivers Optional, per family
Specialized buses—BACnet, KNX, Lutron, Dante, LoRaWAN, Modbus, OpenADR, and Symetrix—are licensed by family. Choose only the families the project requires.
03
Feature modules Optional
Cross-cutting capabilities that aren’t tied to a single driver. Add the ones your project needs; skip the ones it doesn’t.
04
Care & cloud Year one included
Software updates, support, remote access, notifications, and off-site backups. Your first year comes with the license; after that, renewing is a choice — not a requirement to keep running.
Feature modules include AV System, Access Control & Visitor Management, Network Monitoring, Custom Driver Authoring, Web Services, and Custom UI & Widgets. Explore access and visitors or the developer platform.

The perpetual part
The system you buy keeps running.
GEM’s platform license is perpetual. The software and licensed features you bought continue to run locally whether you renew care and cloud coverage or not.
Renewals cover releases published after your update window and the selected cloud services for the year. They do not replace the local platform license.
Common questions
Pricing FAQ
What happens if I don’t renew?
The perpetual platform license continues to run locally. Lapsing means you don’t receive releases published after your update window, and selected cloud services such as remote access pause until you renew.
Is there a per-device or per-point charge?
Premium drivers are licensed by protocol family rather than by each device instance. Contact us for the scope that applies to portfolios, campuses, or unusual configurations.
Do I need cloud services at all?
No. Local-only deployments skip the cloud renewal entirely. You give up remote access, push notifications, and cloud backup — the building itself runs identically.
How do payments work?
One-time payment up front for the license, by ACH bank transfer or card (card payments carry a 3% processing fee). Purchases activate instantly against your installation.
What about a large or unusual project?
Talk to us. The store prices standard configurations transparently; portfolios, campuses, and projects with integration engineering get a proper proposal.
